Fixed Gear New Paint

My bike has become a pride and joy of mine over the past few weeks, i’ve only been riding fixed for about 6 weeks now and i’ve already fallen in love with it. The plan for the bike was always to get a vintage road bike and upgrade the naff parts with brand spankers new ones and then get a complete paint job done on it.

Last weekend i spent the majority of it stripping the bike completely. This basically involved removing all of the original components.

Then i stripped entire frame of it’s original paint, then sanded it down and got it prepped for a fresh powder coat.

So with all of the initial preparation done i went and scoured around Preston for a good powder coater to do the job. Fastline Coatings (walking distance from the city centre) were the best for me as they open at 7.30am which gave me chance to drop my frame off in the morning before work. I gave them a call and I was quoted £70. They said it would be a couple of days. I thought that was a more than reasonable price and the timescale was perfect for me. So i dropped it off on Tuesday morning at 7.30.

Here’s the best bit. I got the phonecall this morning (Wednesday) at 7.30am to say that my frame and parts were available for collection!!! :D

I nearly did a wee!

Needless to say, i ran over to Fastline (tail between legs) as fast as i could and there it was! Looking beautiful… even better than i could have imagined….

As i got back from the painters, i had a delivery dude knocking on my door as i turned up (awesome timing), and he had my Dualism Straps for me!

Close to one of the best days! ha ha

I reccomend Fastline Coatings to anyone wanting their bike painted. They’re very, very reasonable. Really nice people and they’re quite obviously rapid!

The only thing i’m now waiting on is some brand new chainring bolts from Evans which are due to turn up tomorrow :) AWESOME!!!

What do you all think?
